About

My photo
I mean... what is there to say, really? Joy is my name, Laughter is my language. I'm a Georgia peach -- born and raised.. -- I have a story, but we all do. There's not enough time, or space to describe what I'm passionate about..But I am passionate. There's so many things I want to do in life. There's so many places I want to go, people I want to reach. The possibilities are endless. I am a musician. I'm a dancer. I am a photographer, poet, reader, writer, jock, nerd, city girl, beach girl, sweet southern girl.I'm sophisticated. I'm down to earth. I am a sister, a daughter, a worshipper. I am learning, falling, growing. I am laughter, I am tears. I am joy. I am fear. I am strong, I am delicate. I wish. I pray. I enlighten, inspire, encourage, intrigue. I disappoint, I frustrate. I'm a thinker, I'm a doer. I'm sarcastic, I'm sincere. I doubt, I cry, I live and I have died. I am passion. I'm a lover, I'm in love, I am love. I am all of the above. But it's not really about me.... is it?

La Familia

Enter stage right: The Harpers! What an awesome family! I love that they are all quirky, fun, and beautiful in their own ways. When I asked Stacy (mom) about her family, and she told me that they love their cowboy boots and hats, I knew this was gonna be fun! We met at this adorable park and we just let them go at it! They all have their own personalities that were so fun to capture!! I hope you guys enjoy these as much as we loved taking them!!!

Busy Bees!

Ladies and Gents, we apologize for the halt in blog posts, but we have been (in a good way) SUPER busy! The Lord has been doing so much in our lives, and we are loving all of it.

We do have some exciting updates regarding the ministry (www.solutionministry.com) and the photography (www.solutionphotographie.com).

We have a new website up and running for www.solutionministry.com thanks to our dear friends Philip & Abby Stancil of Genare Websites. (Please have grace as our website keeps being updated!) They are also creating our Photographie website soon, too. Our portfolio, prices, calendar of events/shoots, and updates will be on there! We are so excited and so grateful! (Thanks Philip & Abby!) [Abby is also an amazing photographer in the Gainesville, GA area! Check her out at Genare Photography)

In other news, hopefully in the next 6 months (give or take) I will be the full-time photographer and administrative brains behind both the ministry and the photography, and able to give more of my time and attention to helping out with our sister organization Bridge 5:44. I have been wanting to take on the Creative (or Worship) Arts Director position (moreso than I have been) for the last year and a half, as well as help out with organizing the finances, help with fund raising, etc etc. I LOVE ministry, and I love students, and this place was literally given to us as a gift by God. Phil and Becky Dumond (owners/founders Bridge 5:44) are some of our closest friends, and we consider them and their amazing kids our family. Bridge 5:44 is an independent Student Center that is Biblically Founded and Run, as a place where students from Middle-College can come and be themselves, find Truth, play games, and experience growth and transformation through those trying teenage years. Bridge 5:44 is currently open 3 nights a week: Mondays to serve at the Gwinett Co-Op, Wednesdays for "Truth" Group, and Fridays for Game Night. For more information about how to get connected in leadership, or how to get your middle, high school or college student involved, visit www.bridge544.net.

So, needless to say, I'm pretty passionate about those three things: Ministry, Photography, Students (kids in general) and Lord willing, in the next 6 months, I'll be able to focus all my love, attention, and energies on those things (as well as my wonderful marriage to this hot guy). That would be one of the biggest transitions and make such a huge difference in the speed and intensity at which the ministry/photography would progress, so please be in prayer about that! :D

Another update, more personal than ministry-related or professional, but still exciting: We are currently looking for our first house! :) That's right! We are coming on the closing end of our first year of marriage, and by the time we are 1 year old, we will be home owners!! It's really exciting and we are praying for God to put us exactly where He wants us. We've figured out (sometimes the hard way) that when we let God do things His way, it's ALWAYS better, for everyone involved. :)

As far as Solution Ministry: We are in the process of planning our initial trip to Africa (we went once 2.5 years ago with Revolution Church, but this will be our first trip for the orphanage.) within the next 6 months. It would be sooner, but if we were to go in December during Cody's winter break, it would consequently, be winter break for students in Africa, too. That puts a kink in things, but God is faithful, and will get us over there! We have been scouting flights and organizing with our connections about places to stay, resources to talk with when we are over there, etc. etc. It's exciting because we know this is all coming SO soon, and we want to be as prayed up as possible!

As for photography, we are staying busy! We've got shoots booked up through mid-November, and we've got 2 weddings booked for 2013 already! (One of which is in Maine!! How awesome!!) Recently (as in, the last 2 months) I decided I would LOVE to do this with the love of my life, and he decided he was interested, so we put Cody on as a 2nd photographer/intern/assistant! :) We got him his own handy dandy camera and lens, outfitted with all the other essentials, and put him in the field. Literally. His second shoot was a 6 month old in a little field at a park! He has done SO awesome, and it's the best thing in the world when we can do what we are passionate about together. He is a wonderful encourager and loves learning. He gets so giddy when we are going over his photos and he sees that they are actually really good!!! I love it. So, that's good news for anyone interested in our photography services, especially for events: we now offer a 2nd shooter free of charge for a limited time!

Okay, I think that's about it for now. Sorry to wait so long for the updates!

We ask that you would consider supporting any of what we've got going on with prayer or financial donations. All financial donations are tax deductible! Donations can be made by check or money order and made out to Bridge 5:44 - (with "Solution Ministry" in the for section) and sent to   2096 BUFORD DAM RD. SUITE C BUFORD, GA 30518. WE WILL HAVE  AN ONLINE DONATION FUNCTION AVAILABLE ON OUR WEBSITE ASAP! :)

Thanks again for following Solution!

Allie [Party Time!]

Sweet, gorgeous little Allie. What a babydoll!! Not only does she have the most beautiful, precious face (with the longest eyelashes I've ever seen on a baby!) but she's SO sweet! She was such a good sport while we played dress up with her!! I loved the outfits that her mom and dad, Michelle and Stu, brought with them. They were celebrating her being 6 months old! :) The miniature pink polka dot couch with pink balloons and a giant cupcake with hot pink (staining) icing, and "6month" sticker was more than the perfect touch! The cupcake was a funny experience for all of us -- Allie didn't know WHAT to think of it: she painted her legs with the icing, and then figured out she was uncomfortable with icing all over herself. Michelle and Stu had a great time trying to get the icing off with wipes.. And of course I had fun photographing it all!!  FYI to all moms who want to give their babies a cupcake -- MAKE SURE THE ICING ISNT DYED, because it will dye your skin!! LOL. Needless to say, I think this is probably one of the cutest shoots to date. :)

Lauren & Alan [Great Expectations]

Lauren and Alan are expecting their precious baby girl literally ANY day now! Her due date is September 10th, but neither of them think the little princess will wait that long to make her appearance.
I really enjoyed how this shoot turned out, especially after rescheduling 4 times because of rain. We had to get creative, and used a sweet little book store as our background. Fully equipped with the "A Survival Guide For Expectant Fathers" and a Whinnie The Pooh backdrop! :) Thanks for letting me capture this sweet time in your lives, Lauren & Alan.
