Hello friends.
This past weekend was awesome! I had three shoots, one thursday, one friday, and one saturday. They all turned out great!
As I was shooting, I began to learn more about myself, and the way I work best, to create a photograph that will capture it's viewer.
I've noticed that It usually takes me about 2 hours to get a lot of REALLY good shots. I usually shoot about 400-600 shots, and normally get about 10 - 12% of really usable pictures that need a little touching up.
I've learned so much about aperture, ISO, shutter speed, exposure, etc. Light is what I'm really working on, so I've been trying to play with all of those factors to get a really excellent shot in any lighting condition.
I recently purchased a fantastic 35mm 1.8 lens that I'm super in love with, and I've definitely been using that to its full potential as much as possible!
after doing my mom and Reggie's shoot (can be seen here) and looking at the photos on a computer screen, I started getting VERY frustrated, because I noticed that my focus was off ever so slightly from where I wanted it to be. The photos turned out great, but in some awesome pictures, I just wished the focus was that much more to the right or left or what have you. Lesson learned: USE YOUR VIEWFINDER!! I was using my LCD screen more than my viewfinder, because I liked seeing what was in the frame on a bigger scale, but noticed that the focus was more on target when I used my viewfinder.
As I was doing these other shoots, I was more aware of where the focus was, which helped, but it's still SO hard to tell where it is exactly because its just so small. Forgot to mention that I haven't taken my lens off of manual focus since I bought it, because I like being able to focus where AF wouldn't focus sometimes.
The beauty of all the things I do wrong is that I learn what to do right, and eventually, HOW do to it right!! :)
I've had so much fun doing these shoots, and can't wait for my next one!
The actual business side is progressing nicely, since we officially have our website up, business cards ordered, and traffic on our facebook page! I'm loving it! :) We also had a wonderful meeting with the founders/owners of Bridge 544, (and some of our BEST friends) Phil & Becky Dumond. I really believe the Lord is up to something a lot bigger than any of us expect, and we all just want to be ready, willing, and obedient to whatever that is. Keep us in your prayers as we continue to reach out and be the solu+ion where ever it's needed!!

- I mean... what is there to say, really? Joy is my name, Laughter is my language. I'm a Georgia peach -- born and raised.. -- I have a story, but we all do. There's not enough time, or space to describe what I'm passionate about..But I am passionate. There's so many things I want to do in life. There's so many places I want to go, people I want to reach. The possibilities are endless. I am a musician. I'm a dancer. I am a photographer, poet, reader, writer, jock, nerd, city girl, beach girl, sweet southern girl.I'm sophisticated. I'm down to earth. I am a sister, a daughter, a worshipper. I am learning, falling, growing. I am laughter, I am tears. I am joy. I am fear. I am strong, I am delicate. I wish. I pray. I enlighten, inspire, encourage, intrigue. I disappoint, I frustrate. I'm a thinker, I'm a doer. I'm sarcastic, I'm sincere. I doubt, I cry, I live and I have died. I am passion. I'm a lover, I'm in love, I am love. I am all of the above. But it's not really about me.... is it?
